Minding the Garden has won a coveted RHS award!

2023 It’s Your Neighbourhood Award

(Advancing – Level 3) 

 

We were thrilled to be presented with this wonderful award by the Royal Horticultural Society and South & South East in Bloom! This is the second year running we’ve been lucky enough to win an award in this category in recognition of the all the hard work of our members and the Minding the Garden team.

 

The Royal Horticultural Society’s It’s Your Neighbourhood scheme judges community gardens on 3 key areas:

• Community Participation
• Environmental Responsibility
• Gardening Achievement

 

This means that we’ve been assessed on how inclusive and representative we are of Hart’s local community and how much of a difference we make to our members lives.

It also rewards us for our eco and conservation practices in the garden. This not only includes things like composting but how we care for wildlife and engage in wider environmental issues.

Finally, the It’s Your Neighbourhood Award recognises that Minding the Garden employs good gardening practices and takes a creative, innovative and holistic approach to what we do.

 

This award is really great news for HVA’s Minding the Garden, as a winner of the RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood Award, we have the opportunity to work more closely with the RHS and benefit from their amazing expertise through the vital mentorship they provide.
