National Walking Month – May 2023.

You might not realise it but May is national walking month, so what better opportunity to get celebrating than heading out on any of our safe and social walks! As the weather begins to pick up a little, why not join us on one of our free weekly health walks.

We head out every working day somewhere across the district and all the details can be found below. Our walks are generally around an hour in length which equates to between 2.5 – 3 miles. The Hart Health Walks are designed to help you get out and about in your local area on a gentle walk and encourage some gentle physical activity, as well as being a chance to chat to like-minded people and socialise with a cuppa at the end (if you wish).

Walking has so many benefits for both physical and mental health including:

  • A reduced risk of heart disease and stroke
  • A chance to see nature and energise with fresh air
  • Walking maintains and improves physical fitness
  • An opportunity to socialise with like-minded people

Our friendly, trained volunteer walk leaders will always welcome new walkers onto our walks across the district. All you’ll need to do is fill in this brief form. Hand this to the walk leader on the day (they will also have blank copies if you need).
