Counselling Services Manager (part-time): based in Fleet, North East Hampshire

Hart Voluntary Action is recruiting a Counselling Services Manager to take on the management/development of a youth counselling project and group work for adults who have depression and anxiety.  This post will also be involved in the development of other counselling services for the benefit of residents in Hart District.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a qualified and experienced counsellor/supervisor to utilise their skills to manage a counselling service. You will drive the development of an exciting client led counselling service in Hart and surrounding areas and, as the Counselling Services Manager you will manage the day to day activities of 121 Youth Counselling and Sunshine and Showers ensuring the service meets all contractual requirements.

The purpose of this role is to lead, manage, supervise, support and enable a team of paid staff and volunteers to provide an effective counselling service. This is a multi-faceted and developing post that will be open to change, growth and development to meet the emerging needs of the service.

The key responsibilities of the Counselling Services Manager are as follows:

  • Management of the 121 Youth Counselling project, and Sunshine and Showers Depression Support Groups.
  • Supervision support to other Hart Voluntary Action frontline staff.
  • Ensuring that Hart Voluntary Action is meeting its ethical obligations as a BACP Member.
  • Supporting the development of new counselling services as directed by the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees.
  • Opportunity to hold a small counselling case-load.

Essential requirements for the post:  a skilled and experienced counsellor with proven experience of counselling young people (11 years+), evidence of recent clinical experience, previous experience of working in a counselling organisation or managing a counselling service, a BACP member and eligible for or working towards professional accreditation; and people management skills, car driver.  This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

  • FTE Salary: £33,132 per annum pa + pension + mileage allowance. 
  • Fixed- term contract initially for 18 months
  • Part-time 26 hours per week (Actual salary £23,282 pa)
  • Suggested working pattern:  3 or 4 days a week – flexible (some evening work may be required)
