Volunteer for Us

These are some of the ongoing volunteer roles available with Hart Voluntary Action:

121 Youth Counselling

Meet and Greet Volunteers – afternoon/evening support to counsellors at our counselling rooms at Odiham Cottage Hospital to receive clients, maintain attendance lists and ensure health and safety measures are maintained.

Youth Counsellors – fully qualified (Level 4) or working towards Level 4 qualification to provide open-ended weekly counselling sessions for 16-25 year olds. Those who have post-qualification experience and training or are in training to work with 11-16 year olds also very welcome. Clinical supervision and ongoing professional development opportunities provided.

Hart Volunteer Centre

IT tutors – providing one-to-one IT tuition for people aged 55+ – help with accessing the internet, using a laptop or tablet and with specific projects.

Reception/administration – help with general enquiries from visitors to the Hart Volunteer Centre, volunteer promotion administration and social media.

Hart and Rushmoor Young Carers

Drivers – to provide transport for young carers in their own vehicle (or minibus – MiDAS training available) to and from our clubs in Yateley (Monday evenings 18.30-21.00) and Farnborough (). Term-time only. Occasional help with transport for weekend and other outings.

Club Assistants – assisting with activties (arts, crafts, cooking and physical activities) which are run at the Young Carers clubs in Farnborough and Yateley.  Role suitble for 17-18 year olds as well as adults.

Hart Health Walks

Walk Leaders/Back Markers – full training and ongoing support is provided before you can become a Walk Leader and you will need to have attended a number of our walks first. Lead or act as middle or back marker of one or more of our weekly Health Walks, ensuring that all participants are welcomed and supported throughout the walk.

Hart Voluntary Action

Trustees – we are always interested to hear from people who live in Hart District or are involved with a community organisation serving Hart residents, or who have business experience that could be of benefit to the charity.

Making Connections

Making Connections volunteers -short or medium term support in the form of companionship or taking out to social/exercise activities for adults living in North East Hampshire and Farnham, who are at risk of social isolation.
