Minding the Garden is a beautiful, peaceful and inclusive space on the edge of Fleet where everyone is welcome. We welcome everyone of all ages and dispositions and grow a variety of fruits, vegetables and flowering plants.
With two polytunnels, a fruit cage, raised beds and a large pergola for obligatory tea & cake, this is an inclusive and accessible space with wide, even paths situated along Pale Lane.
We regularly run creative workshops and members share gardening knowledge & know-how so that you can get stuck in as much or as little as you want.
Members come to us when they’re looking for a little exercise, friendship, relaxation or to reap the positive effects of the outdoors upon their wellbeing.
You are welcome at Minding the Garden as an individual or through a group, such as Autism Friendly Fleet or Andover Mind’s Carer’s group, and we’re open all year round. For those of you who need it, you’re able to come along on a supported basis which has proved really valuable for some of our members.
Members are encouraged to enjoy the produce they grow at home – vegetables grown by your own hands taste so much better than those from a supermarket – and we currently donate our surplus to Yateley Community Pantry. Church Crookham & Fleet’s Men’s Shed often donate their time and expertise to help build our beds, wheelchair-accommodating tables and thanks to a grant from the SE Water Community Chest, they recently helped erect a new rainwater-harvesting system.
Join and you really will find yourself an integral part of the caring, local community.
As we say farewell to summer, we look forward to our autumn and winter activities – would you like to come along to one of our Christmas Wreath Making Workshops? Then please get in touch – they’re filling up fast!
Our beautiful space is also available to hire for holistic wellbeing, physical and creative events – we’ve hosted groups for outdoor Pilates and yoga and there really is no prettier place to create art.
