Hart Voluntary Action is a local charity which supports the voluntary and community sector in Hart District by offering one-to-one information and guidance, training, information updates, networking opportunities and volunteer recruitment. Our aim is to support voluntary and community organisations with their capacity to deliver services and activities for the local community.
Membership is free and you will find more details about the benefits of membership in the Voluntary Sector Support section of this web-site.
We regularly publish updates from our members in our Hart Matters newsletter and promote their work through our quarterly Voluntary Sector Forum.
We also run the Hart Volunteer Centre which matches local residents looking to volunteer with 100s of volunteering opportunities provided by voluntary and community groups in Hart and the surrounding area. Working in collaboration with Rushmoor and Basingstoke Volunteer Centres, we manage the Volunteer North Hampshire web-site with hundreds of local volunteering opportunities available at any one time.
Hart Voluntary Action is funded by Hampshire County Council and Hart District Council to provide this support as a Council for Voluntary Services. Working with the Local Authority, we also develop and run our own services in the community to support residents in North East Hampshire and immediate surrounding areas, where an unmet need has been identified.
Our current services are:
- 121 Youth Counselling
- 121 Adult Counselling
- Counselling Training
- Hart and Rushmoor Young Carers
- Hart Health Walks
- Sunshine and Showers Depression Support
- The Annexe Counselling Rooms in Odiham
Hart Voluntary Action works in partnership with the other Councils for Voluntary Service in Hampshire – see more information about the Hampshire CVS Network here. Hart Voluntary Action is also a member of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA).
