Hart Volunteer Recognition Awards

Councilor Sharyn Wheale, Chairman of Hart District Council, Hart District Council (HDC) and Hart Voluntary Action (HVA) invite nominations for Volunteer Recognition Awards to be presented at an Award Ceremony on Thursday, 15th April 2010 (venue to be confirmed).

The Awards are open to any individual or group who performs voluntary work within Hart District and has had outstanding achievements in any of the following categories:

Service to the Community - Volunteers who have, directly or indirectly, made a significant contribution to the community through community service. This includes individuals who have contributed through their support (in whatever form) to voluntary or community organisations.

Caring in the Community - Volunteers who significantly enhance and/or promote the community through caring actions and outstanding acts of humanitarianism, contributing towards making Hart a safer place for residents of all ages.

Environmental Protection and Enhancement - Volunteers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the promotion and preservation of Hart’s natural environment for present and future generations.

Sports and Recreation - Volunteers who enhance the quality of physical activity in Hart, contributing to the management and/or operations of a sports or recreational activity or demonstrate outstanding dedication to Hart’s sporting and recreational community.

Youth Programmes - An individual who strongly supports Hart’s youth through the development, provision and/or participation in youth programmes and activities.

Arts Heritage and Cultural Awareness - Volunteers who have contributed significantly to preserving and celebrating the District’s past and promotes the community heritage or the arts and cultural development of our community to others.

U21 (Youth Under 21) - Anyone under the age of 21 who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the community and/or has made extraordinary volunteer contributions in any of the above categories
