Emma Hall, founder and volunteer at Stepping Stones DS support group, which operates across Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey, has been announced as the winner of 'Britain’s Best Volunteer' award.

The award, a partnership between Markel UK, the specialist charity insurer and Small Charities Coalition, the support organisation for small charities, recognises those who volunteer their time to help small, local charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations.  After 2 months, the award has seen over 700 nomination stories, for volunteers helping out small charities and organisations here in the UK.  For more information on the award click here

Fleet Town Council is once again holding one of its regular Action Days on Saturday 10th May from 9.30am - 12.30pm (meeting at the Harlington) and are looking for volunteers to help tidy up and improve the appearance of Fleet and the parks.  FTC is inviting organisations and residents to come along and be part of the day.  It is hoped that when we all get up on Sunday 11th May, there will be a noticeable improvement in the appearance of Fleet.   As usual, Fleet Town Council will supply all the materials and equipment and it would therefore be very helpful if you are able to give an indication if you are able to support this event.

For more information contact Janet Stanton, Deputy Clerk at Fleet Town Council on 01252 625246 or email deputyclerk@fleet-tc.gov.uk
